Dilapan -S™ cervical dilator is a HYDROPHILIC polymer rod used for dilation and ripening of the cervix.

When inserted into the cervical canal, these sterile rods act in two ways:

· Draws fluid from the cervical tissue into the rod causing expansion of the rod which produces an outward radial force.

· Initiates endogenous prostaglandin release causing collagen degradation which softens the cervix.

Dilation and Ripening

One Dilapan -S™ (4mm) in situ for four (4) hours achieves 10-11.2mm dilation.

One Dilapan -S™ (3mm) in situ for four (4) hours achieves 8.37-9.45mm dilation.
